Our history commences in the 19th century, after the end of the “Desrt Campaign” against the Indians.
Visionary farmers began importing the necessary equioment with which to establish a soind agricultural base capable of producing quality wines. In 1909 the Humberto Canale winery was founded by the engineer who gave it his name. He played an important role in the development to the Upper Valley giving the industry ananonymous profile which hardly changed with the founding od small individual wineries. By injeccting a good deal of profesional know how into the valley´s activities he managed to promote investigation and creativity, thus allowing the world to see that the región possessed a special terroir tha gave birth to different, very characteristc wines.
