In 1925 Don Antonio Rabat entered the wine business when he purchased the winery “Viña San Clemente”, which grew as an important family business until the early 1990s.
In 1992 Viña Manquehue – also owned by the Rabat family – set up Fresita and began to export this product to different markets throughout Latin America.
In 1998, six years after the first bottles of Fresita were exported, Viña Manquehue was named exporter of the year, having sent half a million cases to Argentina, a clear sign of the brand’s successful entry into that market.
In 2007 Fresita became the top-selling sparkling wine in Finland, just a year after its launch there. This asserted the success of the brand positioning upon entering that market.
